I'm removing myself from field missions for the time being. And some of my information network is working on making sure sensitive information does not always flow through me.
We're trying to limit the blast radius for when Lady Death asks for her pound of flesh.
[ considering the question for a moment - then, as though he's finally remembered to do so, he sets down a cup of tea for him. ]
. . . I wondered why it was that my Master was treated in such a way and then killed. But, in the grand scheme of things, I'm sure the details don't matter.
[And he spreads his arms wide as if to prove a point]
Still Hell-infusion free. Which I cannot say for the rest of the party. Or you - for that matter.
Paladins - off to save an angel even though half had no memories and the rest had no idea where to look. But my rival was with them, you see. And two others I hold in high esteem.

I must ask, then. Of those in the field now, who amongst them are capable of preventing a matter like that from happening again? That is - are they capable of doing so? Certainly, I'd prefer not to. I have yet to bring these changes up to anyone -
[ with a pause ]
Well, though I don't think they're particularly important, I must admit that acknowledging them is somewhat unpleasant.

But concerning short term things---
[Pointing to the whispy shadows at his feet]
Are those permanent?
