Maki: If you see this, Exael signed us out and took us to her apartment, but I didn't get much out of her before she kicked me out.
Maki: It seems like everyone is here, so I'll probably be staying at the hotel.

[Much later. Sometime in the middle of the night]

CEO: Understood.
CEO: Going to avoid that area for a while.
CEO: Seems like an obvious place for them to find us.

[rollplayinghouse]

[middle of night or not, she responds almost immediately]

Maki: Makes sense. Let me know if you need anything.

CEO: If I don't respond, my phone is off.
CEO: That's how they track us in Tokyo-F.
CEO: Wouldn't be surprised if they could do it here as well.

[rollplayinghouse]

Maki: I assumed as much.
Maki: But so you know, Exael seemed pretty alarmed when she got the news about what happened to Tokyo-F.
Maki: I also wouldn't be surprised if you're the least of their worries right now.

CEO: Probably not.
CEO: Seeing as we got dumped in the exact same place as everyone else.
CEO: But still.
CEO: Better to be cautious.

[rollplayinghouse]

Maki: Yeah.
Maki: Try not to get stuck in prison again when everyone else is shipped back.

CEO: I make no promises.

Maki: If you do, I'll have to break back in and get you out.
Maki: So hopefully you can save me the trouble.

CEO: And damsel doesn't look good on me either.

Maki: I'll bet it doesn't.

CEO: If you leave the area by the hotel, text me your location.
CEO: I’ll stop by if I’m nearby.

Maki: I could go somewhere right now.
Maki: I'm certainly not sleeping.

CEO: The hotel, right?
CEO: Been to the shopping area two districts over?

Maki: I walked through it.

CEO: Walk through it again.

Maki: Alright.
Maki: Ten minutes.

[Eventually, a slouching lame attempt at a sci-fi shonen protag taps her on the shoulder]

Yo, Maki-chan.

[rollplayinghouse]

[Maki whirls sharply, and then has to blink a few times before giving him an incredulous look.]

...I guess that's a good disguise.

[Muttered sort of low and grudgingly.]

[With maybe a smile that's a little sharp]

I don't know what you're talking about.

[Offers his arm for her to take]

[Maki's eyebrows raise slightly. But after a pause:]

I've already threatened to kill a few people today, you know. You'd better make it worth my while.

[She takes his arm.]

[And wandering around under the guise of window shopping at the various boutiques.

If this wasn't a complete farce for an information trade it would almost be a -- gasp -- date]

Unfortunately Maki is too concerned about how he's acting and focused on doing her best at subterfuge to note any of the romance of walking around the city at night arm-in-arm.]

..."Old friend" is a little strong. It went downhill quickly, and she said she wouldn't even have agreed to talk to me if she'd really known me.

She did, yeah. For a few reasons. And also called me too demanding for saying she needed to actually tell me something real if I was going to tell her anything.
