[ with a grin, he charges straight in—then feints to the side, aiming for Intensity's legs with a sweeping kick. after all, it's only his arm that got the power-up. ]

It does catch him in one the ankles, causing him to stumble back. But it also gives him the opportunity to try and catch Izumu's arm.

Lucky for Izumu, with his flesh hand, since he feinted in the direction opposite of the metal one]

[ he does manage to grab hold of it. but instead of trying to wrest his arm free from Intensity's grasp, Izumu suddenly drops down onto his back, also latching onto Intensity's flesh arm with his free hand since he fully intends to yank Intensity down with him.

and he bends his knees so that as soon as Intensity lands on top of him, he can deliver a hefty kick up and out to hopefully send him flying. ]

[Why do you have to use this noodle's momentum against him.

Intensity wheezes as he's tossed about like a ragdoll, twists so that he is braced for whatever second impact Izumu has planned]

[ Izumu wastes no time in righting himself into a crouch and then springing himself up off the ground in Intensity's direction, using his own momentum this time to try and kick the man while he's down. into the nearest tree. ]

[As Izumu approaches, Intensity places his robot arm where Izumu is striking. So he is more than welcome to carry out that attack.

At the low low price of getting zapped well and good for his efforts]

[ well, contact with that arm is what he is really hoping to avoid here. ]

[ so when he sees Intensity put his metal arm in the way, he twists out of the way at the last second, avoiding Intensity entirely. but it does give Intensity a moment's opening as he has to reorient himself after the maneuver. ]

[There is the robotic sound of metal sliding against metal, a compartment opening somewhere in the arm.

Think fast, Izumu.

Because if he won't come to Intensity, Intensity is just gonna shoot you with his taser gun.

[ well. he's not going to make this easy for Intensity by remaining a stationery target, at least. the second the gun comes out he starts running, aiming to take cover behind the nearest tree. ]

[He'll shoot the tree he ducks behind for good measure, a nice little "overloaded" warning shot that scorches the bark.

And stalks forward like the 90s cartoon midboss he is]

What?

I thought you wanted a real challenge.

[ while Intensity is busy stalking forward, there's a rustling from the direction of the tree as Izumu swiftly scales it from his side.

then, his voice rings out from above: ]

Obviously—I always do!

[ and he flings himself from one of the higher branches of the tree, hoping he has enough momentum and enough of the element of surprise to get the drop on Intensity. literally. ]

[As soon as the tree rustles, Intensity does look up. But much higher than where Izumu is due to the fact he thought he was going to use Verticality.

Imagine his surprise when he has a tiny assassin gremlin dropping from a much shorter distance.

Starts flailing and attempting to pistol-whip Izumu]

Let go!

[ he leans out of the way of that attempted pistol whip, then leans all the way back in for a headbutt. ]

Here I thought you wanted me closer!

[Ow...? Ow.

Well, that lifelong mystery of who has the thicker skull has now been solved.

[ also knees him in the gut. ]

And his arm shoots out (flesh one) to grab Izumu by the throat]

[ Izumu's eyes widen a fraction when he feels Intensity's fingers suddenly wrap around his throat, and both of his hands go straight to Intensity's wrist, trying to pry it off. ]

[ONLY IF HE GETS TO THROW YOU TO THE GROUND]

[ FINE!!!

though he does land perhaps unsatisfying gracefully, hitting the ground with a roll to break his fall. ]

[Oh...

Stop being so infuriatingly HOT, Izumu. Intensity is trying to kick your ass!

Tries to catch one of his ankles and drag him back before he rolls too far away]

[ he can't help it; it just comes naturally!

a little less graceful, however, is the grunt he makes when Intensity manages to just barely grab one of his ankles. he digs his fingers into the ground as Intensity tries to drag him back, making a desperate attempt to kick his foot loose. ]

Not enough to ping the restraint objective?

[He loses a few inches of ground from Izumu's violent squirming.]

[And then he suddenly lets go of the ankle entirely]

[ he takes the opportunity to spring back to his feet, though he braces himself for whatever Intensity could be planning. ]

[Tackle him back to the ground, of course. Using his heavier--- actually no, it's only advantage is being longer and more awkward --- frame to keep Izumu from escaping.

This time trying to grip a wrist or elbow with his metal hand.]

[ between the dizzying impact of hitting the ground full force and the lack of escape route, his wrist is Intensity's for the taking. ]

[ when he feels Intensity's metal arm make contact with skin, he steels himself. ]
