With two fingers, he makes a motion that brings a chair over so Kohime can climb it if he wants to. Or sit. Her preference.]

She pulled something behind the scenes, I take it.

[She hesitates –– then holds it out to him.]

[And since he really doesn't know what to say to that, he takes out a knife and uses it like a letter opener to slice open the envelope.]

[She just sits on the floor but clutches the chair, pricking it with her claws.]

Right. Well Ruby sends their regards. And says write them a letter if you need to talk. Though they'll be staying on the downlow for a while just in case anyone is suspicious about what they were up to.

[She takes it –– and squints at all the glitter.]

Regarding termination of the contract.

The most unlikely scenario is that she asks for it to be nulled voluntarily. More likely is she either fails to appease her employers or she dies.

There's nothing else in here regarding what happens if she is terminated.

That's one possibility. The other is she goes back to being a Damned. Loses enough of herself to not be able to function possibly.

And I don't know what "a taken soul" means in this instance.
