[It's clear he's about to say something arrogant as Intensity is wont to do.

But then.]

Shall we test that theory?

[As he is already attempting to tug King off the bed]

How much can he really do against this, given his position? ]

[Nothing, really. But isn't that the point? At least for Intensity anyway.

As soon as they reach the thresh hold of the bed, the ability fades leaving King to indeed fall into Intensity's arms. Which is going to be a noodle catch like this, let's be honest.

Except for he still hasn't let go of King's hand.]

[ . . . Adorable.

He laughs, at least until the urge to lean in and kiss him senseless overpowers everything else. ]

[Is King making fun of his strong manly---

Oh. Never mind. Being kissed short circuits whatever complaints he may or may not have had.

Except for that little nagging though that he has somehow not only lost the high ground, but also King is topping him again.

. . . Damn it.]

[ It's not his fault Intensity makes it so easy!

And when he does pull back (only a little!), all he has to say is: ]

I love you.

[Hey. Did it suddenly get really quiet in here? Like quiet enough to hear a pin drop. Or hear the rustling of the lotus petals in the pond.

For the first few seconds, Intensity just stares in slack jawed non-comprehension until his mind slowly starts to process exactly what King said.]

[Which then plummets him headfirst into the four stages of ... whatever this is.

Stage 1: Denial

Surely, he misheard what King just said. Surely. Even in his wildest fantasies, those words never come out of King's mouth. Was not even programmed into his AI. Because feelings are weak (sure, they are, Intensity. sure, they are). And they are lifelong rivals. Not---]

[Stage 2: Anger

He takes a step back, which really doesn't help give him any distance since yanno, he's holding onto King.

And sputters:]

You can't just---

[Say that.

Like an emotionally competent person.

How dare you!]

[Stage 3: Bargaining

Surely this is the alcohol talking. Or a game effect. Or something else.

Except King is under none of those influences right now, so---

FUCK]

[Stage 4: Acceptance

He is so red right now with no comeback -- witty, snarky, asshole-ish or otherwise -- to save him.

In fact, all that comes out of his mouth is just a embarrassed choked noise]

[ That's his emotionally constipated idiot rival.

Somehow this reaction earns nothing but even more fondness as King just leans in to kiss him again. ]

[He's still too flabbergasted to respond to that kiss properly. It's actually a small miracle he has not dropped King.

(Just kidding! He is clinging to him tighter than ever at this very moment. You'd have to pry King out of his hands with a crowbar.)

But still.

Somewhere deep down. Buried in all those unused parts of himself.

... Seems like he should say something back.]

[ Well.

King doesn't seem to be waiting for any kind of response, based on how he presses deeper into the kiss, his free hand scraping nails down the back of Intensity's neck. ]

[That results in a whole body shiver, knees temporarily going weak before Intensity locks them into place again.

And with King pressing that close against him, there is no opportunity to say anything anyway, so---

He kisses King back just as fiercely. As if King were the only oasis in a sea of sand and sun and emptiness. As if he could give King the moon and the stars and whatever he wanted just by asking for it.

I'm yours. Forever.

(I ---- you, too.)]

[ Beautiful.

King pulls back again eventually, lips curled into a grin against Intensity's. ]

Ah, but don't let me distract you.

[S T O P.

You. absolute. menace.

His words are somehow steadier than the arms that are holding King. Somehow...]

Hmph. I thought that was the point. To drive each other to distraction. So that we're reduced to nothing but this and the duel in front us.

In that case--

[ He slips his fingers under Intensity's collar, dragging them along his throat this time. ]

It looks like I'm winning.

You are n---

[Is it King coaxes a variety of noises out of Intensity hour? Well. It sure seems so at the frankly indecent sound that comes out due to the skin to skin contact on his neck as well as the vortex of emotions he's felt today.

Fucking...

Timber.

Actually.

As his legs finally give out and they land in a heap on the cushions nears the pond]

[ This is the portion of our duel where King laughs his ass off, arms to firmly wrapped around Intensity.

Thanks for breaking his fall! ]

[This little ~~endearing~~ gremlin!

He can still feel his cheeks burning from multiple sources of embarrassment and the laughing is just adding to the flush. He buries his face in King's hair, coward that he is.

But being on the ground means that his hands are free, which he immediately uses to launch an attack on King's wings. That is to say, heavy strokes from where they extend from his back down to the tips]

Quiet, you.

You're in a compromised position.

[ Intensity will feel (and hear) more than see King's sharp smirk, even as he presses up into those hands, wings flaring and tilting to coax those fingers into all the best places. ]

So are you.

[ So about that exposed neck?

It's time to dip his head and drag his teeth along it. ]

[Well then.

If King wasn't winning before (he was), this certainly seals the deal and the duel as Intensity hisses out King's name:]

Atem---

[He obediently tips his head back to give King more access all the while scrabbling desperately at his wings for some kind of handhold. And completely oblivious to the fact that his hands were being guided the entire time.

Well played.

And well--- the opening move was a request to touch King everywhere. So while Intensity is not coherent enough at this moment to remember that, he instinctively hooks an ankle over King's and arches up flush against him shoulder to hip.]

[ He chuckles against Intensity's throat, then breathes his name against it in response.

One kiss, then another. Then an open-mouthed kiss to his pulse point.

The only thing that manages to tear his mouth away for a moment is the sudden press of Intensity's body against his -- he breaks off with a hitched breath, warm air ghosting wet skin. ]

[The first response from Intensity is a petulant whine. Excuse King! He was enjoying that.

But that is immediately followed by a wicked grin at that oh so delightful noise coming from King.]

Yes.

[Practically purred as he slides down the length of King's body just enough to create the desired friction but not enough to remove King completely from his neck. His arms and ankle coil tighter, pulling him closer.]

Make more sounds like that for me.

[And he rolls his hips up and against King in one smooth (if slightly drawn out and dramatic) motion]
