I've not heard of a corruption affecting memories. But truthfully, there isn't a lot we know about them.

Just that they're gaps of your soul that Hell tries to fill.

Yes. That's why anyone who goes to see Lady Death always comes back with one. If you've died outside a game, there's a part of you that can't be replaced. She fills it with the corruption, binding you further to Hell.

The ichor and the smoke from these imps seems to also trigger the infusion. If eating them causing corruptions immediately is any indication.

Not to mention the additions I saw on numerous people today.

Then I see two options here. Either we must locate and recover an angel, or we continue experimenting with the way the magical language of Pink's world interacts with this one. If they can summon and banish things even by mistake, then they can affect it in other ways.

Then I'll tell you this. Nothing we know about the real Heaven currently would aid you in getting back to the ship. Outside of finding the angel himself.
