[Catches it and looks over the stuff.]

[Then he'll get to work, copying what Intensity did. He is definitely not fast but hey, avoids stabbing him in the cuticles or anything.]

[Not quite so perfect as Intensity, but decent enough especially for never having heard of a manicure before.]

Probably. I imagine keeping a dragon's claws nice and neat is more beneficial to me than to the dragons.

Kind of comes up a lot when your best friend is a dragon and you have a whole thing of saving dragons from people who hunt them. Even if they trust you, ragged claws would like to catch.

[He raises an eyebrow.] You can't believe all dragons are just aggressive beasts, can you? You made the metal compaion one.

....man, either dragons are gods or don't exist, kind of depressing how limited they seem to be everywhere else. [Dragons are awesome and deserve to be aroubd more.]

Depends on the dragon, depends on the human. Dragons are highly protective and defensive so they need to be sure the human isn't a threat.

But after that hurtle, dragon personality can vary widely. Some can be quite playful. Or sarcastic and bemused. Degrees of humoring.

Yes.

I could name like twenty different types of dragons off the top of my head. This. [Gestures back to his wings.] Is modeled after Toothless. A Night Fury. And my best friend.

Its actually been super enlightening, he lost a tailfin and now I hve more infornation for an improved prosthetic.

Well, black scales for night, excellent night time navigation.

As for fury, he's a strike class dragon. Very fast, very accurate, powerful fire. His comes out white hot and can explode upon impact. Can send a whole ship full of dragon hunters running if they're not prepared before hand to deal with him.

I suspect that's part of what started our friendship. There's a very small window between time before I know I hadn't met him, to testing it out.

Strike class are fast and agile, but it also means all the pieces that help them fly can have a big impact if they're damaged. A missing tailfin means anytime he tries to fly, he's going to immediately veer off to one side.

No tailfin, no flying. No getting food from the ocean, no leaving the island, and I think he might have been stuck in a cove when I found him which is probably part of why he let me anywhere near him.

Yes.

Dragons think differently to humans, but they recognize kindness. I don't know how our first meeting went, but he understood I was trying to help eventually.

Also gave me sass when it wasn't going well, but we figured it out.

There's differences. Because unlike a human, it's a rare dragon who isn't possessive or protective. Humans have plenty who will give all until they break or will abandon what's theirs just to protect their life.

A dragon doesn't leave what's theirs, not if they got a choice. But the differences are more...

[He pauses.]

Dragons don't lie. That might be the best way to describe it.
protectshisown: (Too cute for words really)

[personal profile] protectshisown 2020-11-19 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
[Shrugs.] I study a lot of dragons. I think Toothless is particularly protective and I'm pretty dedicated in my interests. Easier to help dragons if I know more.

Dragons are intelligent and emotional, just the way they see the world and humans see the world is a little different.
