I'm not expecting anything out of them.

I expect them to act in accordance with their own self-interests, everyone else's opinions on the matter be damned.

So then the actual work becomes a matter of where can we leverage where there interests and our interests align.

Do you know if they have interests besides keeping their own skin intact?

They like being right. And they like proving to someone else that their right even more.

Stubbornness can always been an effective tool. Even dripping with selfishness. And especially considering their contract powers.
