If I can reliably use your experiences as a model for this, then if pushed I'd prefer to tread as close to honesty as possible. For better or worse I am a poor liar, but there is much that can be concealed by a more selective version of the truth.

I believe it is to my advantage that I already am known to have taken on combat students; surely it is not so strange for me to accept more, or even to organize a more formal class in the same manner that John teaches field medicine.

Then I think your plan is sound - or as sound as plans can be when filmed 24/7.

If word does spread among those who favor our captors, then what can they gain by disrupting training that could bring about better entertainment? Probably nothing. And they probably won't bother.

Then if confidential information were to pass to you, let's say - potential weaknesses of our captors. Well you can use that to your advantage with none of them being the wiser.

That is precisely the sort of coordination I hope to achieve.

But, much as I would enjoy assaulting the fortresses of our captors directly, I think it is just as important—if not more so—that we are prepared for defensive action, in the case of retaliation if or when one of your solo operatives strikes true.

Are you referring to the events that lead up to Maintenance?

Or other potential retaliations?

The latter. Though that those events took place at all is, I think, indicative of the risk.

Obviously we're not going to stop. But we can and should be prepared to keep civilians safe once we're ready to escalate.

And your plans for when they start targeting those civilians? Which you and I both know they will.

If they'll do it for something as cheap as ratings, then they'll definitely have no qualms about doing it to demoralize the rest of us.

So long as they think still we need them, there's much they'll let us get away with. Anything past that point... [ a meaningful brow raise; it hardly demands elaboration ]

In anticpation of that time, I'd like to work with the rest of I2 to draft deployment plans. Training will take place in Fangs—that is, standard martial units of five—which means that soldiers should be well-equipped to split up to protect individual areas or groups, if the situation calls for it.

Use the rest of the organization as you see fit. If they see a way to assist in what you're doing, they'll step up. Or pass it on to someone else if not.

My own personal experience is in corporate espionage and take-down, so I leave the logistics of these matters to you.

My main concern is making sure that we develop a system to ensure we're notified of attacks—and their location—as quickly as possible.

The phones are an incredible tool for that, of course, but in the end they're as Hell-supplied as our extra abilities. So, I think it would be wise to prepare a back-up system—something with flares, probably.

Flares could work. But you're correct to stay off any technology based solution.

If you think of something more niche and useful for the type of communication you have in mind, you have the FiN abilities at your disposal.

It would provide an extra step of removal between our actions and the knowledge our gracious hosts have access to.
