Okaaay idk if E told you and you forgot or he hasn't been straight up about it yet. So apparently the folks upstairs want Heroes and Villains. Basically? They want us to fight.
It's a cheap way to write a story, but at the very least, you can establish a rivalry. You've already got some weird thing going with Boss, so keep it up for the cameras. I think E is gonna talk to the others later about it, too.

CEO: Oh good. Have other people contacted you? I'd like to +1 the complaint of my whole unit plus change losing their color saturation and their memories. Is that something you can help solve, or do I need to be transferred to a different department?
Liar's Minion: I warned you already! You shouldn't blame backstage when the actors are forgettable.
CEO: Yeah, the thing about fucking memory loss if I forgot what you warned me about. Can I get a refresher course? Or at least a fucking sign to hang around my neck to warn others about their impending doom?
