[ Yes, isn't King so very lucky?

King with his low low standards.

He just smiles a little to himself before shifting to press a kiss to Intensity's forehead, a mirror of what Intensity had done earlier. ]

[Tilts his head to look up at King with his brow furrowed]

What?

[ Perplexingly(?), he just looks serene. ]

Nothing.

[Serene. What's that? Never heard of her.

And after a long pause:]








Before the Damned joined our ranks, Azzy was supposed to come and personally recruit people to the side of Vengeance.

[puzzlekeeper]

[ Wow way to harsh the mood!!

His hands still altogether. ]

[King's low low standards]

Never encountered one though. Maybe they were too good at hiding it. Maybe Azzy never even bothered to show.

Or maybe the ratings were so low they instead only brought in Damned that wouldn't know subtle villainy if it bit them in the ass.

[ This isn't the most unexpected twist Intensity has led them down in even the past 12 hours, so, it's fine. ]

Disappointed?

It was more of a rhetorical question.

Then my rhetorical answer is yes. I'm disappointed. And tired. Of many things.

Of repetition.

And complacency.

And waiting.

[ A low sigh ]

[Muttering something unintelligible as he settles back down against King]

[ And his hands go right back to threading into Intensity's hair. ]

Only one of them.

[The tension starts to bleed out of him (perhaps unintentionally) as Intensity shifts to give King better access. And also to give himself better access to he can run the back of his fingers along the line of King's collarbone]

Settled all the mysteries of the past that you were aiming for?

"All" seems like a lofty goal when I don't even know what to wonder.

But the two mysteries I was most concerned with... yes.

And you're content with both answers?

[ The movements of his hand hesitate for a moment, then resume again. ]

Or is it one of those - creates more questions than answers them - kind of deals?

There's a little bit of that, yes. Any question about the past was bound to be that way.

But my second request was simply my name, which was perfectly straightforward.
