[Kaiba approaches Yugi at school asking to see Yugi's Blue Eyes White Dragon card because "he is in love with that card". (Yeah, we know you are, Kaiba.) Yugi agrees and hands it over, and Kaiba tries to switch it out for a fake, but Yugi is too smart for that. When confronted, Kaiba hits him with his metal brief case and viola - that I guess is the ritual for summoning Atem. It's time to d-d-d-duel.

Except in this card game, Atem is using his shadow magic to make the monsters real, and the loser has to suffer a punishment game (which Kaiba is real excited about). Less excited when Kaiba starts getting his butt kicked so he tries to cheat and play Blue Eyes. But Blue Eyes does whatever the fuck she wants so she doesn't fight for Kaiba, and he loses. And then Kaiba gets his punishment game (Sensation of Death) where he gets killed/eaten by his monsters. Surely this will not result in nightmares and lack of sleep and revenge.

Also roll a perception check to see if you can tell when Yugi changes to Atem!]

[Have a fun memory of the Kaiba brothers needing a ride in a hurry and purchasing a car in the most obnoxious way possible. That is paying half a million for it. With a fancy check. Takes place in America. This is from filler which I'm not using so just assume the line mentioning "Dartz" doesn't happen.

[Mokuba calls to let Kaiba know that there is some weird data anomaly going on in their Duel Serveer. And what does Kaiba do in response? Jump in his home-made tech pod and tried to ride the wave of people's consciousness to an alternate dimension. Has a small death duel because this is ygo. And then when the stress is too much on his body, both Blue Eyes and Mokuba have to team up to rescue his sorry ass.

In fact, your lips curl up in a smirk even as you feel a growing emptiness in the pit of your stomach.

Teleportation.

You can't believe it. Fucking teleportation. Like out of a bad sci-fi novel. Honestly. It's always one thing after another with these people.

But no matter. You'll overcome this hurdle just like all the others you've come across. In fact, you already have the infrastructure built for it. So when the coward tries to blink, no... run (of course he would run) to the nearest rooftop to escape, you're already there waiting for him.

The two helicopter spotlights blind him. Enough so that your highly trained squad of four, all clad in black, can subdue him. Steal that wretched magical whatchamacallit right out of his hand and slide the carefully constructed blindfold over his eyes, blue LEDs flashing. Your design. But of course is it.

You step off the helicopter gracefully, landing on the rain-slick rooftop and coat whipping out dramatically behind you.

"I've got questions for you about the missing two pieces."

He laughs back at you, face whipping in your direction even though he can't see.

"You found out faster than I expected you to. And these googles are for sealing my abilities, aren't they?"

No shit, Sherlock. Otherwise, you wouldn't be here right now, would you? You huff in response.

"It'd be a pain if you got your buddies together again." And with an unnecessary wave of your arm: "Take him away!"

One helicopter flies off, passenger stowed, as you turn to look over the city. Your city.

[For anyone who has seen Kaiba or Yugi's memories of a large tournament, this looks like to be the wrap-up. The city looks kind of wrecked (card game physics), but no one looks dead (also card game physics).

Kaiba approaches Yugi-tachi and remarks that he (read: Atem) was here. And after actually not being a dick to them for once, leaves with his little brother Mokuba.

Smash cut to him testing out some new fancy technology that literally jettisons his body toward the earth at unsafe speeds. And potentially leaving the company to Mokuba? He certainly doesn't say anything when Mokuba asks for his safe return. And he arrives in Egypt. More precisely Ancient Egypt. More more precisely - Atem's Ancient Egypt. Where wordlessly he asks for a duel and Atem gets up from his throne because that's how rivals talk.

It's the classic children's card game plotline where Kaiba gets put into a 6-month coma by his rival (Atem) and wakes up to find his brother kidnapped and his company almost bought out. So after a long action sequence storming the castle (and cheating to beat his rival), Kaiba arrives to duel a a 27-year-old American otaku to fight for his brother's soul and freedom.

And loses. Spectacularly.

Thank goodness the Friendship Squad cleaned up after that mess.
